Emergency Responders Called to Head-On Collision in Sacramento

The Sacramento Fire Department emergency responders were called to the scene. One of the involved parties was complaining of chest pain. No report was issued on whether that person was transported to a hospital.

Witness Reports That Reckless Driver Was Involved

A witness to the head-on collision in Sacramento said the Cadillac driver was driving recklessly before the accident, speeding and cutting in and out of the lanes. The head-on crash happened when the Cadillac came over the center divider, crashing with the Kia. The CHP traffic collision unit is investigating the accident to determine the fault and how it occurred.

Why You Should Contact an Injury Lawyer

An injury lawyer helps you obtain the compensation you deserve following an accident injury if it was caused by a negligent driver. Once it has been determined that the accident was the other driver’s fault, your lawyer will gather the evidence to support your claim. Using that evidence, he/she will construct a strong case.

The lawyer then negotiates with the negligent party’s insurance company to reach a favorable outcome. If that isn’t possible because the insurance company does not cooperate, the case can be taken to civil court. Because injury lawyers work on a contingency basis, you owe them nothing unless your case is won.

Recovering Compensation after a Sacramento Injury Crash

Those who are injured by a negligent driver in a head-on collision in Sacramento often struggle financially due to injuries. They face not just medical bills but also the loss of income from not being able to work. By pursuing an injury claim against the responsible driver, those who suffer injuries can seek recovery for:

  • Medical expenses resulting from the collision, including hospital stays, ambulance fees, doctors’ visits, surgeries, and any subsequent rehabilitation or physical therapy. If the injury is an ongoing issue, future medical costs can be calculated and included in your settlement.
  • Lost wages for the time injured individuals could not work, including unpaid time off, or the use of sick leave or vacation time. This encompasses recoverable compensation for lost job perks like tips, bonuses, and pension and insurance benefits. If the injury causes permanent disability, the injured party can recover compensation until they reach retirement age. If they must take a lower-paying job because of the trauma, the pay difference is recoverable.
  • An injury lawyer can help estimate compensation for pain and suffering, addressing both physical pain and emotional distress. Emotional distress includes symptoms such as depression, anxiety, fear of leaving home and others.
