I-5 Hit-and-Run Causes Pedestrian Fatality

A pedestrian fatality was reported on August 27 in Sacramento involving a hit-and-run driver. The crash happened along northbound Interstate 5 close to the American River Parkway neighborhood around 4:15 a.m. Officers with the North Sacramento California Highway Patrol (CHP) reached the scene after receiving a report of a pedestrian accident and found the woman along the right-hand shoulder of the road.

A driver suffered serious injuries in a Sacramento freeway accident on August 23 when her Chevy SUV exited the road for unknown reasons and struck a tree. The accident happened near Truxel Road during the evening hours. The woman was reportedly ejected from her vehicle. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers who responded to the accident said the driver suffered major trauma and was transported to a hospital. 

Head-On Collision in Stolen Truck Occurs on American River Bridge

A head-on collision between two pickups occurred in Sacramento in the early morning hours involving a wrong-way driver.
