Pedestrians Hit in North Highlands Intersection

Major injuries were suffered by two pedestrians on March 21 in North Highlands when they were struck by a motor vehicle. According to the police report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a male and female were struck at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Bainbridge Drive around 7:07 in the evening. At least one of the pedestrians was found in the roadway, and both were unconscious. Emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department transported both to a hospital for treatment. The vehicle that struck the walkers was a black Acura. The roadway was blocked to traffic as investigators determined how the collision occurred.

Madison Avenue and Hillsdale Boulevard Intersection Accident

A fleeing driver struck and injured two pedestrians in North Highlands during the early hours of March 15. The California Highway Patrol (CHP), in their report, said that firefighters with Sac Metro were sent to Madison Avenue at the intersection with Hillsdale Boulevard in response to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Even though the driver that caused the accident fled the scene, other motorists stopped to help and turned their flashers on to warn others before the arrival of the CHP.

Pedestrian Thrown Onto Hood of Car in Accident

A pedestrian injury occurred in North Highlands on February 23 after a walker was struck by a vehicle on Elkhorn Boulevard. The incident was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and occurred shortly before 9:00 in the evening at Elkhorn Boulevard’s intersection with Watt Avenue. According to the police report, the pedestrian was thrown onto the hood of a Honda Accord and suffered at least a broken leg. Emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the scene to offer aid and assess the pedestrian’s injuries. That person was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment and assessment. Investigators with the CHP are examining the accident to determine how it happened.

 Parking Lot Accident in North Highlands

A  pedestrian was injured in a parking lot accident on March 25 in North Highlands. The incident took place around 2:00 in the afternoon along Date Avenue near a multi-family home. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck by a neighbor who was backing out his Nissan. The man who was injured was walking through the parking lot. The driver left the scene of the accident after telling the pedestrian he should watch where he was walking. One witness to the incident told CHP officers where the driver lived. It is unknown whether charges will be filed.

North Highlands Pedestrian Injury – A pedestrian injury occurred in North Highlands on September 21, 2018, involving a vehicular collision. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident involved a compact car, which struck a pedestrian at about 7:30 in the morning at Madison Avenue and Jackson Street. A witness to the incident called in the report and several vehicles stopped to try and help. The Sacramento Fire Department was called to the scene to aid the injured person, who was transported to a nearby hospital. No information has been released by the CHP on the identity of the pedestrian who was struck or the nature and intensity of the injuries. Authorities will be investigating the accident to determine cause and place fault.
