Five Vehicle Crash Occurs on S.R. 273

A multiple-vehicle crash in Anderson on April 5 resulted in at least one major injury. The collision occurred at the State Route 273 and Ox Yoke Road intersection around 9:39 in the morning. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that it involved five vehicles, blocking the southbound lanes. 

Multiple Injuries Reported in Daycare Out-of-Control-Driver Crash

An out-of-control driver who crashed into a daycare caused injuries to the 19 children inside and one teacher in Shasta County on March 3. The accident happened in Anderson at the Great Adventure Christian Preschool on Balls Ferry Road around 2:30 p.m. When the collision occurred, two members of the staff and 19 children were in the building. 

Anderson Big-Rig Crash Results in Multiple Injuries

On Friday, October 30, 2020, an Anderson big-rig crash left more than one person with significant injuries. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) released reports indicating that the crash happened on a local highway and involved multiple vehicles, including a large commercial truck. Additionally, responders indicated that one of the vehicles caught fire as a result of the incident, threatening vegetation in the area. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

Caltrans to Implement Speed Reduction on Redding-Anderson Highway Project

Caltrans announced that they are planning to reduce the speed limit on a stretch of Highway Interstate 5 between Redding and Anderson while workers add additional lanes to the road. The change was reportedly scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2020. According to officials, the reduction in speed is part of an effort to protect people working on the project from fast-traveling vehicle accidents.
