The big rig crash was called in a little before 11:00 a.m. Officials said the crash was located in an area south of Highway 33 and Kasson Road.

What Caused the San Joaquin County Big Rig Accident?

Details pertaining to what caused the crash has not been released by authorities. It typically takes 5 to 10 days for the investigating agency to prepare a report of their findings and issue a traffic collision report. Sometimes those reports can be in error or inconclusive. If you have been injured in an accident with a commercial truck, contact an experienced truck accident attorney.

Who Is Responsible When a Big Rig Crashes?

When it comes to large commercial trucking accidents, there is a network of players who may be accountable for a victim’s injuries. This may include:

  • the company that owns the truck or trailer
  • the driver of the truck
  • the company or person that leased the trailer or truck from the owner
  • manufacturer of the big rig, tires, brakes or other parts which may have caused or contributed to the severity of a crash, and
  • the loader or shipper of the cargo on the truck (in claims involving improper loading).
  • The trucking, leasing and hauling companies may argue with each other over which insurance will compensate the injured victim. For example, a truck company may claim that the crash was caused by defective tires. In turn, the tire company may point a finger at the leasing company who failed to maintain the tires in good working condition.

Did Anyone Get Hurt when the Big Rig Crashed?

Officials have not indicated whether there were injuries reported as a result of the big crashing near Stockton. At the time of this writing, the San Joaquin big rig accident was a developing story.
