Things to Know About Multi-Vehicle Accidents

A traffic collision may present some of the most stressful and life-changing consequences any person may experience. These often result from serious injuries that have a lasting impact on the lives of those affected. When the unexpected occurs, it is essential to know that financial recovery from a personal injury claim may help in covering medical bills, time away from work to recover, and other accident-related losses. In the case of a crash involving multiple vehicles and parties, this may involve unique challenges for the injured party.

When a person is injured in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a driver who does not have liability insurance, then uninsured motorist (UM) coverage is there to provide protection. In situations where the at-fault party has some coverage but not enough to pay for all resulting injuries and damages reported from involved parties, underinsured motorist (UIM) may come into play, up to the limits of the insurance policy.

While this is a first-party insurance claim and claimants expect their insurance company to provide fair compensation, that is not always the case. Most insurers devalue, delay, or even deny claims filed by their insured despite owing them a duty of good faith and fair dealing. When you have found yourself in this situation, let an experienced Pittsburg personal injury attorney handle all aspects of your case on your behalf.
