Accident on Walerga Road Causes Minor Injuries

A two-vehicle crash in Antelope on December 10 resulted in an injury to one person. The accident happened on south Walerga Road just north of Antelope Road shortly after 1:00 p.m. between a Toyota Sienna van and a sedan. According to the incident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the sedan was blocking the southbound lane.

Both Vehicles Towed After Two-Vehicle Crash

Sacramento Fire Department first responders were called to the scene to assess trauma to those involved, and one individual appeared to have suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained enough damage that they had to be towed from the scene. An investigation is underway by CHP authorities to determine how the crash happened.

Minor Injuries in a Two-Vehicle Crash

The problem with minor injuries that occur in a two-vehicle crash is that they aren’t always the way they appear at first. Because the human body reacts with a rush of adrenaline when someone is involved in an accident, it can mask more serious injury symptoms that can arise later. This is one of the reasons it is important to head to the emergency room or your family physician following a two-vehicle crash.

How an Injury Lawyer Helps

One of the problems with being involved in an accident is that no one wants to admit they were negligent. Certainly, their insurance company will support them because they are in business to make money and want as few payouts as possible. Your injury lawyer can investigate your two-vehicle crash to determine how it occurred and gather the evidence needed to support your claim for compensation. Some of the areas in which an investigation is conducted include:

  • Our investigators go to the scene of the two-vehicle crash to check for roadway damage, which indicates negligence by the government entity in charge, take photos, and document where the vehicles were struck.
  • The accident report filed by the responding police is checked for mistakes because an error could adversely affect a client’s ability to claim compensation.
  • Accident reconstruction is carried out, which indicates the positioning of the vehicles before, during, and after the two-vehicle crash. This type of evidence is compelling and can point toward fault. It is accepted as evidence both by insurance companies and in civil court.
  • Any witnesses to the two-vehicle crash are interviewed.
  • Traffic cameras in the area are examined to see if the two-vehicle crash was captured on film. If it was, we can subpoena the film and use it to establish negligence by the other party.

Once all the evidence that supports the client’s claim for compensation has been gathered, our injury attorneys take over to compile it into a strong case. By filing a claim for compensation, the injured client can recover all of their medical costs associated with the accident, wages lost from being unable to work, and for their pain and suffering.
