Get Inspired at SacTown VegFest in North Highlands this Saturday!

So many folks resolve to start the new year with a plant-based diet that January has been rebranded as “Veganuary.” To continue Veganuary, check out SacTown Vegfest in North Highlands this Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Event Description

For those attempting a plant-based diet, there is no better place to live than Northern California, often called “America’s salad bowl.” SacTown VegFest celebrates plant-based and vegan lifestyles in Northern California. This event is created by the Sacramento Vegetarian Society.
As the name suggests, a plant-based diet focuses mainly (or entirely) on plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, grains, and pulses. The term is different from “vegan,” which emphasizes animal rights. While the names may seem interchangeable to some, a person following a plant-based diet may not 100% eliminate animal products from their diet and could be following the eating plan strictly for health reasons rather than for ethical concerns. In either case, there are many documented health benefits of incorporating more plant foods into one’s diet. The Sactown Vegfest will have helpful information and the opportunity to sample delicious plant-based foods.
The event will include exhibitors, vendors, cooking demonstrations, speakers, children’s activities, and free samples. All food prepared and offered at the event will be 100% vegan.
