Fatal Head-On Collision in Yuba County

A woman was killed in a fatal head-on collision in Yuba County on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Crash Details on Marysville Road

The collision occurred at approx. 2:00 p.m. on Marysville Road, south of Bald Mountain Road. Investigators reported that a Nissan Maxima traveling northbound at an undetermined speed crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma.

Victim and Injuries Reported

Authorities said the driver of the Nissan Maxima was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was transported to Adventist Health and Rideout with minor injuries. CHP noted that the deceased driver was believed to have been involved in a pursuit with the CHP Grass Valley Area Office the previous night and had been arrested on suspicion of DUI before being released from jail. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
