Severity

Yolo County motorcycle accidents were much more severe than most collisions. While the overall fatality rate for Yolo accidents was around 2.5 percent, motorcycle accidents had a rate of nearly 4.6 percent. Similarly, motorcycle accidents involved a severe injury at a rate of about 22 percent while crashes overall were at only around 7.5 percent. This means that motorcycle accidents were nearly three times as likely to involve major trauma.
