Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near I-5 and Highway 50 Connector in Sacramento

A motorcyclist killed in crash near I-5 and Highway 50 following a collision with a car on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, near a freeway connector in Sacramento.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as the motorcyclist was traveling on the southbound Interstate 5 connector ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 50.

Authorities said the collision caused the rider to be thrown off the side of the roadway near the intersection of Broadway and Front Street. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and declared the rider deceased.

Officials identified the victim only as a 45-year-old man. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured, according to the CHP.

Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances that led to the collision.

Motorcycle Safety Awareness

Motorcycle crashes can be especially dangerous due to the limited protection riders have compared to occupants of passenger vehicles. Safety experts encourage drivers and motorcyclists to remain vigilant by:

  • Checking mirrors and blind spots carefully before changing lanes
  • Giving motorcycles additional space on freeways and ramps
  • Avoiding sudden turns or lane changes
  • Riding at safe speeds and wearing proper protective gear
