Woman Injured in Suspected Fairfield DUI

A severe auto accident took place during the morning of Monday, March 4, 2019. The crash reportedly involved two vehicles and a pedestrian. The Fairfield Police Department (FPD) says that the pedestrian suffered serious injuries. The pedestrian has only been identified as a 34-year-old woman from Fairfield. The latest available reports indicated that the woman was in stable condition. While police are still looking into causal factors of the crash, officers say they suspect the accident was at least partially caused by driving under the influence of alcohol.

Crash Details

Reports indicate that the accident happened at about 1:00 a.m. on West Texas Street. The victim had been crossing West Texas close to the intersection of Gregory Street when she was struck by a vehicle. Details about how this collision happened have not been reported. The driver of the car reportedly pulled over and called 911 for help. While the driver was on the phone, the woman was struck by a second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle also remained at the accident scene.

Response

Emergency officials arrived at the collision site and found that the pedestrian was severely injured. According to reports, the woman suffered trauma to her lower extremities and was taken by ambulance to a local emergency room.

Police interviewed both drivers at the accident scene. The second driver was arrested on felony charges of driving under the influence and booked into the Solano County Jail. Police have identified the driver as a 54-year-old Fairfield resident.

Investigation

As their investigation continues, officers of FPD have asked for help from the public. Any person who may have seen the crash happen or who believes they have information that could help officers investigate the incident should call (707) 428-7524 to report what they know.

Leg Injuries and Recovery

Leg injuries can be very serious, especially in pedestrian/vehicle accidents. People who suffer leg injuries are often faced with a wide variety of difficulties. First of all, recovering from a leg injury can be physically painful and mentally stressful. Learning how to do daily tasks without full mobility can take time, and many people suffer anxiety or depression related to this difficult process.

Leg injuries can also leave people with permanent symptoms. Suffering a serious leg injury can mean no longer being able to get around the house or do activities you love. Furthermore, many leg trauma survivors are left unable to continue their career. All of these issues can leave people in a difficult place emotionally and financially. For this reason, crash survivors deserve to receive compensation for their damages from the parties responsible for their injuries. This is done by filing a personal injury claim. If you’d like more information about these types of claims, it is best to get in touch with a local Fairfield personal injury lawyer.
