Woman Killed in Napa Car Accident Identified

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, a local woman tragically lost her life during a Napa car accident. Three days later, Napa County Sheriff’s Office officials publicly released her identity. The decedent was identified as 35-year-old Napa City resident Frances Gloria Finch. In addition to Finch, two other individuals sustained injuries as a result of this accident. The cause of the incident remains under California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigation.

Accident Information

CHP reports that the collision occurred at 9:20 p.m. on Trancas Street at the intersection of Monticello Road. Finch had been driving westbound on Trancas in a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle when, for unknown reasons, she reportedly lost control of her vehicle. As a result, the Chevelle veered left and traveled over the dirt median before entering eastbound lanes. While driving west in eastbound traffic, the vehicle crashed head-on into an oncoming Corvette, causing serious damage to both cars.

Response

CHP was alerted to the accident directly after it happened and rushed responders to the scene. When they reached the crash location, response officials determined that Finch and her passenger, identified as a 37-year-old Napa man, had sustained severe injuries. Both parties were driven to the Queen of The Valley Medical Center for immediate emergency medical treatment. Tragically, Finch passed away while in hospital custody. Updates on the passenger’s condition have not been provided.

The driver of the Corvette, identified as a 39-year-old man from Rancho Cordova, reportedly sustained minor injuries but was still hospitalized. The Corvette passenger was not injured during the accident.

Investigation

As CHP investigates this crash, officers haven’t stated any suspected accident factors. Furthermore, CHP is asking for assistance with their investigation from accident witnesses or individuals who have relevant information about the incident. To report what you know to CHP, you should use the non-emergency phone number (707) 253-4906.

Fatal collision investigations present a major challenge to police. Because officers cannot interview the decedent regarding what took place, it’s possible that investigators won’t ever fully understand what caused the crash. If the police don’t notice evidence during their investigation, it can have a major impact on families’ ability to claim fair compensation from insurance companies and/or at-fault parties.

Getting Help

Fatal accidents can leave families in a dire financial situation. In many cases, families are left with medical expenses for services rendered before their loved one passed. Furthermore, families also often suffer a sudden income loss or lose access to expensive services that their loved one used to perform for free.

To make sure your family has financial stability during a very difficult period, it is important to reach out for help from a Napa wrongful death lawyer. With the help of an expert attorney, it’s often possible to obtain full compensation for the economic and personal losses that your family has suffered.
