Four-car Accident Sends Two to Hospital in Ventura

The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to discover the reason the accident happened and to determine fault.

What Happened in the Four-Car Accident
The accident occurred shortly before 7:00 in the evening near the intersection of South Victoria and Telephone Road. It involved four vehicles. One of the vehicles was a city police car, while no description is available about the other three vehicles involved in the accident.
Accident Injuries
According to authorities, there were five people injured in the crash. Two were transported to a Ventura medical center for treatment, while the three other injured persons declined hospital treatment. The police officer was included among the individuals taken to a hospital. A second person riding in the patrol car was also injured; however, those injuries were reported as not being a serious risk to the person’s life. The CHP is investigating the accident, even though it happened inside the city, because a police officer was one of those involved.
Dangerous Intersection
The intersection of South Victoria and Telephone Road in Ventura can be dangerous and was the site of an accident in February, which resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man and serious injuries to the 21-year-old female driver. Running the red light was a serious enough problem there that a video camera was placed at the intersection some years ago to catch offenders.
