Vallejo Vehicle Loses Control, Shutting Down Highway 37

A single car lost control and struck a concrete barrier recently. The collision prompted the closure of part of westbound Highway 37 near Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo.

What Happened?

According to California Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Danielle McGill of Santa Rosa was driving in her Scion at approximately 6:45 pm before she lost control of her vehicle. McGill made a dangerous turning movement underneath Sonoma Boulevard overcrossing, where her vehicle lost control and caused her to crash into a concrete barrier. Due to the accident, the highway was closed for approximately two hours.

Accident Aftermath

Danielle McGill had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency staff and was transported by a CHP helicopter. McGill sustained severe injuries due to the accident. However, her two adolescent passengers sustained minor injuries and were all treated. The California Highway Patrol indicated that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected as factors in this crash.
