Vallejo Crash Kills Motorcyclist
I’m Ed Smith, a Vallejo Motorcycle Accident Attorney. A beloved Helms Middle School resource officer lost his life on the morning of Thursday, September 29, 2016.
What Happened?
Fifty-three-year-old William Zink, of Dixon, was a resource officer for Helms Middle School. Zink was on his way to his job in San Pablo on his motorcycle along westbound Interstate 80. Zink was lane-splitting in the vicinity of Vallejo when a car struck his motorcycle. The impact of the crash caused Zink to be ejected off his motorcycle. Unfortunately, a big rig approaching did not have time to react and collided with the motorcyclist. Sadly, Zink passed away at the scene due to the grave nature of his injuries.

Beloved Resource Officer Forever Remembered
William Zink will be forever remembered as a father of seven and an outstanding school resource officer. Zink served in the San Pablo Police Department for nine years. He was awarded the highest ranking of master officer for 2010 and 2014. Zink also received an award from the California Narcotics Officers Association for the Al Steward Award in 2012. Zink was a former officer for the United States Coast Guard before starting his service in San Pablo. A GoFundMe page has been set up by his loved ones.
