Soccer & Sack Lunch

Date: Saturday, June 16, 2018

Admission: Free

The Get Fit Modesto community is ready to kick off June with some good old fashioned outdoor sports. Held at the Mary Grogan Community Park, this free event welcomes people from all age groups. This soccer-based workout is aimed at getting everyone’s heart rate pumping. The first hour will be spent rotating between three different stations: an obstacle course, a partner station and a soccer scrimmage. Afterwards, everyone will get to reward themselves for their vigorous workout by sitting down for a nutritious lunch.

Carnival Food at the Veterans Event Center

Date: Friday, June 22, 2018

Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: 3500 Coffee Road, Modesto, CA 95355

Admission: Free

An indoor, carnival-inspired event is put together on the 4th Friday of every month by the non-profit organization, Mytv26. The event organizers will also be creating a keepsake video for those that would like to make a personalized message to their loved ones that have served our country. Families are welcome to stop by and support our veterans. Food options will include churros, nachos, corn dogs, baked potatoes, cake on a stick and more. Alcohol will only be served to those that are over 21 years of age. Come get involved in this free event that brings the carnival to you.

Pique Assiette Mosaic Workshop

Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018 / Sunday, June 24, 2018

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Sunday

Location: 1015 J Street, Modesto, CA 95354

Admission: $125 online registration

The Mistlin Gallery is the oldest art gallery is Modesto, creating an atmosphere that’s rich in both history and beauty. Karen Kingsbury, member of the Central California Art Association, is the artist that will be guiding attendants through this two-day workshop. All attendants will learn how to transform broken dishes and pottery into beautiful mosaic art. All you need to do is register online and bring in an additional $25 for materials, which will all be provided by the art director. There are only 10 spots available for this workshop, so act now!
