Watt Avenue Two-Vehicle Accident Reported in Arden-Arcade

A two-vehicle crash resulted in an injury in Sacramento on May 7. The accident occurred at around 12:15 p.m. on northbound Watt Avenue just south of Kings Way in the Arden-Arcade area, according to the police incident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The sedan and SUV that were involved in the crash blocked traffic for a time as the site was investigated by the CHP. One party involved in the two-vehicle crash was exported to a hospital for additional treatment and evaluation following a complaint of pain.

Causes of a Two-Vehicle Crash

There is an astounding number of traffic collisions around the country every year, and an accident involving two vehicles is common. They can occur on highways, city streets, and rural roads. Most accidents are caused by driver negligence, which includes:

  • Driver distraction is the major cause of any type of accident. Any action that takes a driver’s hands off the wheel, makes them look away from the road, and turns their thoughts elsewhere is a distraction. Activities that contribute to distracted driving include texting or talking on a cell phone, the noise inside the vehicle such as music, eating and drinking, or becoming focused on an accident on the side of the road.
  • Drug and alcohol impairment are the cause of many traffic accidents each year. Drivers who are impaired have problems focusing on the road ahead and exhibit poor judgment and reflexes. This can easily lead to a two-vehicle crash.
  • Disobeying traffic laws often leads to a two-vehicle crash. Reckless driving such as speeding, running a red light, tailgating, and others are a common cause of accidents.
  • Drowsy driving occurs from chronic sleep deprivation and, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, can impair the ability to drive as much as being drunk.

Recovering Damages Following an Accident Injury

Traffic accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. It can leave an innocent driver, a passenger in the vehicle, motorcyclist, bicycle rider, or pedestrian injured. The injured party can easily end up with mounting medical bills, lost wages, and the pain and suffering that goes along with an accident. When a negligent driver or other entity is at fault for your injuries, you may place a claim to recover fair compensation.
