Two Tragically Killed in Shasta County Car Crash

On Thursday, March 12, 2021, two people sadly passed away after suffering injuries in a Shasta County car crash. Reports released by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) state that this incident was a two-vehicle collision and that it happened in the late evening outside of Lassen Park. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department is presently withholding the identity of both decedents and the accident is under CHP investigation.

Crash Information

The accident happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Highway 44, close to Bridge Creek Road. According to police, an eastbound vehicle lost control while navigating a curve in the highway for unknown reasons. As a result, the car spun out and collided with a westbound Toyota Pickup truck, causing serious damages to both of the involved vehicles.

After the accident happened, police rushed a team of response personnel to the scene. At the location, emergency officials found that both occupants of the first vehicle had suffered serious trauma. Tragically, both individuals were pronounced deceased by paramedics on-scene. The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck reportedly did not suffer any injuries during the collision.

Investigation

While CHP officers continue their accident investigation, no suspected causal factors have been reported. Frequently, car accidents similar to this one happen because of a number of factors, many of which may lie outside of the control of any of the involved motorists. Furthermore, deadly auto accidents frequently involve factors drivers do not have any ability to control. These non-driver causes can include defective auto products, damaged or poorly designed roads, and more.

Private Accident Investigations are Important

When one or more drivers loses their life in a collision, investigating officials are presented with a major challenge. Without the ability to take testimony from the driver, police might not fully understand what happened, possibly leaving decedents’ family members unable to hold at-fault parties financially responsible for damages. The best way to know for sure that a fatal accident will receive a full investigation is to get in touch with a Redding wrongful death lawyer. An experienced lawyer can conduct a private accident investigation, using their own time and resources to prioritize you and your family.
