Westbound U.S. 50 Accident Causes Injury Following Two-Vehicle Collision

A traffic injury was reported in Sacramento on June 29 following a two-vehicle crash on the West Side Freeway. The incident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the collision occurred along westbound U.S. 50 at the connector to northbound I-5 around 7:16 p.m. and involved a black sedan and an SUV. The sedan ended up sideways on the highway blocking both lanes, and there was a wide debris field caused by the accident as well as the destruction of a safety barrier.

Unconscious Person Removed From Their Vehicle by a Good Samaritan

One party involved in the crash was removed from their vehicle by a good Samaritan and reported as unconscious. Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the scene to assess the injured party, who was most likely transported to a hospital for additional evaluation. The CHP is conducting an investigation into the accident to determine why it happened.

Highway Collisions Are a Major Cause of a Traffic Injury

Motorists would probably be happy if they entered a highway from a ramp and discovered sparse traffic. It would make their trip more enjoyable and safer. However, this usually doesn’t happen. When a negligent driver causes an accident, injuries occur and cause pain and suffering as well as expensive medical bills and lost wages.

Claiming Compensation Following an Injury

When a negligent driver causes an accident, the injured person can often place a claim for injury compensation. It can cover all of the medical costs associated with the collision and reimburse them for their lost wages and pain and suffering. In addition, if the injury is expected to continue into the future or results in a permanent disability that is factored into the settlement.

How Does a Lawyer Establish a Strong Claim for Compensation?

By investigating a traffic injury claim, evidence can be collected to establish who was at fault. However, the stronger the evidence, the better the claim. Our investigative team is experienced in collecting the evidence needed to support a client’s claim. Some of the areas where an investigation is conducted include:

  • The investigators go to the site of the traffic injury accident to comb the area for evidence, including dropped pieces of metal and paint and photograph the scene and vehicles.
  • Accident reconstruction is conducted, which illustrates the positions of the vehicles before they collided, how the crash occurred and where they ended up.
  • The police report is reviewed for errors because mistakes might affect the ability of the client to claim damages.
  • The investigators interview the witnesses to the traffic injury accident. They can not only provide corroborating statements but might have caught the accident on their cell phones as it happened.
  • The area is examined for traffic and business surveillance cameras. This is another good source of live video of the traffic injury collision as it occurred.
  • The driving record of other motorists involved in the crash is checked for previous accidents and traffic infractions.

Our injury attorneys use the gathered evidence to construct a strong claim for our clients to ensure they obtain the compensation they deserve.
