Vehicle on State Route 99 Goes Out of Control and Strikes Guardrail

Traffic injuries were reported in an accident south of Elk Grove when a vehicle struck a guard rail and cement barrier on March 24. The collision, according to the police report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), happened around 12:14 in the afternoon. It happened when the driver of an Infiniti lost control of their vehicle for unknown reasons on southbound State Route 99 and Dillard Road.

Traffic Injuries Reported in Single-Vehicle Crash

Traffic was backed up to Grant Line Road by the accident because the Infiniti was on the bridge, blocking the number two-lane, and attempts to push it off were futile. Traffic waiting to pass had to await the arrival of a tow truck to remove the car. Three patients were reported as transferred to Kaiser South Sacramento Medical Center for evaluation and the treatment of minor injuries.

Causes of a Single-Vehicle Crash

Traffic injuries due to a solo vehicle accident are often blamed on driver error. However, that may not be the case. Several other causes of traffic accidents are listed below:

  • Auto part defect: Many times, automobile manufacturers release vehicles to consumers that are defective. Some of the defects involve the brakes, steering, or tire integrity. Unless the vehicle is examined carefully, the defect would not be easily discovered. Because of this, our investigators urge those involved in an accident to preserve their vehicle, so that it can be examined for auto defects.
  • Road defects: The government agency in charge of road maintenance may not be performing their job as it should be done. Because of this, large potholes or debris may be in the road. This is sufficient to cause traffic injuries in an accident.
  • Hit-and-run driver: A fleeing driver might force a vehicle off the road and into a guardrail and then leave the scene. It might be difficult to prove that another driver was involved. However, our investigators are specially trained to seek out evidence attesting to the presence of a hit-and-run driver. We also use procedures that help us locate the driver.

Investigating Traffic Injuries in a Single-Vehicle Crash

Our investigators are dispatched to the scene of the accident to look for evidence proving liability. They do this in a number of ways such as:

  • The investigators use accident reconstruction techniques that not only help determine liability but show the positions of the vehicle before, during, and after the incident. This is an essential factor in negotiating with insurance companies or in court.
  • They also interview witnesses to the accident to uncover what they saw.
  • Our investigators obtain video footage of the accident as it happened from surveillance cameras on traffic lights as well as security footage from local businesses.
  • We also review police reports for mistakes or inaccuracies that could have a detrimental effect on the successful outcome of our case.

Once all this evidence is accumulated, our investigators present it to our legal term as they work hard to build a strong case for our client.
