Tracy Fatality Accident Claims Fourth Life

Local authorities reported that a fourth passenger involved in a fatal auto accident along Grant Line Road and MacArthur Drive in Tracy last month has recently passed away. Officials said that Cavrin Fiaigoa, a 19-year-old Tracy resident, succumbed to his injuries during hospitalization on January 7, just 9 days after the collision. Fiaigoa is among three others who lost their lives in this devastating accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of Mr. Fiaigoa during this difficult time.

Accident Investigation

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by the Tracy Police Department. However, a preliminary report suggested speeding and alcohol may have contributed as factors to the single-vehicle crash. A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family of Arturo Ramirez Valencia in their time of loss. A GoFundMe page has also been created to help cover the funeral expenses of Christian Cruz.

Single Vehicle Accidents

A single-vehicle accident is one involving only one car. This includes instances when a vehicle veers off the roadway and strikes a fixed object or building. These can also include collisions with a tree, street sign, or guardrail. Similarly, this type of crash can also involve a vehicle coming into contact with debris in the roadway or overturning. As with any car accident, a single car crash can cause high damage, emotional trauma, personal injury, and wrongful death in some extreme cases. Since only one car is involved, the occupants of the vehicle are left to deal with the consequences and expenses of the collision. If a passenger is injured or loses their life in a single vehicle accident, there may be recourses from the insurance policy of the driver and the passenger’s uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Recoverable Damages in a Wrongful Death Claim

When a loved one is lost in a single vehicle accident caused by the negligence of someone else, the family of the deceased may be able to seek compensation for resultant damages. Through a wrongful death claim, a family may seek compensation for the following:

  • Costs of a loved one’s funeral and burial
  • Medical expenses for any treatment received by the decedent before expiring
  • Household services that will no longer be provided to the family due to the death, including vehicle maintenance, tax preparation, and childcare
  • Loss of affection, love, moral support, companionship, and relationship between the surviving family and the deceased
  • Loss of parental guidance for surviving children
  • Loss of consortium suffered by the spouse or domestic partner
  • The income the decedent would have been able to earn in the remainder of his or her life had the wrongful death car accident not occurred

How Law Firm Can Help

An unexpected death in the family is always tragic, especially if the loss could have been avoided. If the loss was due to the misconduct or negligence of another person, the combination of emotional and financial burdens can seem unbearable. While there is nothing that can replace what is lost when a loved one passes away, there can be some relief provided by a claim for wrongful death. An experienced wrongful death attorney in Tracy can help a family present the evidence needed to properly pinpoint fault in these cases to obtain fair compensation on a family’s behalf.
