Three Critically Injured in Brentwood Crash

I’m Ed Smith, a Brentwood Car Accident Lawyer. On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, four cars collided into one another and as a result, three people were critically injured in the process. For a full report, continue below.

What Happened?

The multi-vehicle accident was called in shortly after 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday night, and it happened at Marsh Creek Road. Officer Charles Vonhofen of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that innattentive driving was deemed to be the causal factor which started the domino effect of cars bumping into one another.

The results of the inital investigation imply that there was a Cadillac Escalade truck moving east down Marsh Creek Rd when the driver failed to see that traffic upfront was coming to a gradual halt. The Cadillac hit a grey Volkswagen, which was the first collision in a domino effect that totaled up to four automobiles.  The Volkswagen was pushed out and rear-ended a nearby silver Toyota car, and the Toyota struck into a Cadillac CTS.

The Aftermath of an Accident

Overall, there was severe damages between the Toyota and the Volkswagen. Firefighters that responded to the site of the accident had to extract both drivers from their vehicles. Upon examination, it was concluded that both had suffered traumatic injuries. The Cadillac CTS was able to come out of the multi-car wreck with only minor car damage. The Escalade had moderate damage that was all found in the lower front of the vehicle. Currently, it is not immediately clear what car a third person with critical wounds had been in.

Those involved in the car crash were transferred via ambulance to a close-by John Muir Medical Center, which has a designated spot on Balfour Road that includes a landing pad for helicopters. Out of the three people in critical condition, two of them were flown over to the John Muir Medical Center for Trauma in the city of Walnut Creek. The other person was taken to a Kaiser Medical Center located in Vacaville.

Right before 9:00 p.m. that night, Marsh Creek Road was reopened to the public.

CHP authorities are still investigating the accident for more information. Currently, alcohol does not seem to be involved in this car wreck.
