Texas Man Dies in Fairfield Collision

Texas Man Killed in Fairfield Collision

A Fairfield collision left one individual with fatal trauma on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. The decedent has been identified by the Solano County Sheriff’s Department as a 29-year-old man from the state of Texas. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the fatal accident was a vehicle-pedestrian crash that took place directly after another collision. The incident is under investigation at this time.

Crash Information

The initial accident occurred at around 9:10 p.m. on the ramp leading from Highway 12 to the westbound side of Highway Interstate 80. The Texas man was driving a Chrysler 300 and collided with a Kia being driven by a resident of Vacaville. For unknown reasons, the Texas man exited his vehicle. At about 9:22 p.m., he was struck by an oncoming vehicle being driven by a 38-year-old man from Suisun.

Police at the scene found that the pedestrian had been critically injured by the second collision. Tragically, he lost his life at the crash scene. No other injuries related to this accident have been reported.

Investigation

As officers are continuing their investigation into this crash, no suspected accident factors have been reported. Fatal accidents can be very hard for police to investigate, especially when a major party like a driver or pedestrian isn’t able to tell police their version of what took place. Because they don’t have access to the decedent’s testimony, it’s possible that police will not uncover important evidence that could be a key part of a wrongful death case.

To be sure that the accident is investigated to the fullest extent possible, the best thing to do is to get help from a Fairfield wrongful death lawyer. Having an attorney look into the accident privately means that somebody is committing their resources to make sure that your family’s right to compensation is protected.

Pedestrian Accidents

Pedestrian collisions are very dangerous and often leave people with extreme injuries. Because pedestrians aren’t protected like motorists are, they can be seriously hurt even in relatively minor crashes. Because pedestrians are so vulnerable, drivers should always remain alert and always look out for people walking near or on the road.

Calling a Lawyer

The initial stages of grief after fatal crashes can be overwhelming. Often, people who have lost a family member or friend feel unable to keep up and need to take time away from their responsibilities to process the emotions they feel. In some cases, it can even be hard to accept or understand what has happened. It’s very important to do what you can to take care of your loved ones and yourself during these difficult times.

One of the most important steps you can take following a fatal crash is reaching out to an attorney. While it isn’t possible to replace what you’ve lost, families can be left in a difficult situation after fatal crashes, especially if they have suffered a loss of income or incurred medical bills as a result of the accident. By filing a wrongful death claim, families can obtain the compensation they need to recover these losses.
