Sister Helped Bicyclist Who Passed Away

I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento Personal Injury Lawyer. A former Fresno resident passed away as a result of a bicycling accident that occurred in Downtown Sacramento.

What Happened?

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office released the name of the bicyclist that was killed by a vehicle on July 19, 2016. The bicyclist was 28-year-old Trevor Caine Micarelli. Micarelli was bicycling down 10th Street south where he came into contact with a vehicle, which was identified as driving southbound as well, made an east turn onto H Street. Micarelli sustained multiple head injuries. Authorities said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He was rushed to the hospital following his accident but sadly he passed away four days after the accident while undergoing intensive neurological treatment at UC Davis.

Bicyclist History Background

Trevor Micarelli had lived in Fresno but had recently moved to Sacramento with his younger sister. Micarelli’s mother and sister originally moved to Sacramento from Fresno about four years ago but his mother moved back to Fresno for a better job.  His sister stayed in Sacramento to further her education. Micarelli’s sister brought him to Sacramento to put a stop to his drug addiction and live a sober lifestyle. After three weeks living in Sacramento, Micarelli received two offers of employment, began working and ceased doing drugs.

Mother of Fallen Bicyclists Speaks Out

The mother of Trevor Micarelli urges all bicyclists to take safety precautions by utilizing a helmet to avoid accidents such as her son’s. Micarelli’s mother also noted that the passing of her son is a universal conclusion that any life can be taken away at any time.

Memorial at Cary Park – Fresno

Trevor Micarelli will be remembered at Cary Park in Fresno on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
