Sacramento Weekend Event Calendar
I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento Car Accident Lawyer. There is a lot to do this holiday season in the Sacramento region, from annual traditions like Christmas tree lighting and carriage rides to ice skating dance parties. I extend my warmest season’s greetings to you and yours and hope your holiday season is filled with joy and gratitude. If you find a break in the hustle and bustle, check out some of these local upcoming winter weekend activities:
Macy’s Theatre of Lights
Join the festivities in historic old Sacramento for the Macy’s Theatre of Lights, hosted Thursdays through Sundays at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on K Street between Front and 2nd Streets. This holiday tradition is brought to you free through a collaboration between state and local government agencies and private businesses. Enjoy this holiday tradition with family and support our local downtown community.
Experience the magic of the holidays with a charming horse drawn carriage ride through El Dorado Hills’ Town Center. Proceeds benefit Hands for Hope and 3Strands.
Breakfast with Santa
All you can eat pancakes? Santa? Count me in! Featuring a Tiny Elves Corner for the little ones to decorate Christmas cards or write a letter to Santa, 20 local vendors showcasing handmade items, and of course the photos with the big man in red, this delicious event is bound to leave you and yours full and merry!
Winter Wonderland Ice Skating Event
Skate inside or out with Skatetown Ice Arena in Roseville. Enjoy the full-service café, free skating lessons, games, prizes, a DJ and laser light show dance party! Fun for all ages and free parking!
Holiday Charity Drives
While the holidays are a time of cheer and merriment, some of Sacramento’s most vulnerable residents are facing hardship and need your help. If the spirit of goodwill moves you, check out some of these charitable efforts in our city:
- Holiday Stocking Drive for Women and Children Once Homeless: Make a donation to support formerly homeless women and children through the Women’s Empowerment annual holiday stocking drive.
- Baby Basket Drive for Sacramento Life Center: Share the spirit of the season with low-income new moms in Sacramento with a donation of essentials including formula, diapers, clothes, pacifiers and more.
39th Annual Holiday Show of Hands
Bring the kids for your photos with Santa and sample handmade wares made by over 150 craftsmen and artists. Free parking and delicious food will be sure to make this event a hit!
Old Sacramento Underground Tours
Hidden beneath Sacramento’s downtown streets for more than 150 years, Old Sacramento’s Underground is a treat for visitors and locals alike. Take the tour and explore excavated foundations and enclosed pathways while learning about the history of our state’s capital. The tour is open to guests of all ages, with an “After Hours” tour available for the 21 and up crowd!
