Merced Woman Killed in Car Crash
We are learning of the tragic and untimely death of a vibrant young woman from Merced. She had a passion for working out that led her to Sacramento. Now her friends and family members are grieving her untimely passing after a hit-and-run collision occurred in the pocket area of Sacramento recently.
What Happened?
Elise Eastman, a 26-year-old woman from Merced, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. She died two days after being struck by a silver car that was pulling out of a Sacramento driveway. According to her boyfriend, Eastman was riding home after working out at a nearby gym. She was riding her motorcycle at the time.

So many people that new Elise Eastman told the Merced Sun-Star what an amazing woman she was. Her sister described her as a bright light in the world. Her boyfriend said Elise was the best woman he ever knew. Others talked about her incredible love for fitness and how so many enjoyed being trained by her. She helped countless people meet their fitness goals in a fun and exciting way. She was also described as an accomplished singer, piano player, and athlete. She will be truly missed by all.

Investigation Into the Crash
A police spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department, Officer M. McPhail told the Merced Sun-Star that an investigation is underway. Officer McPhail indicated that no arrests have been made. Hit and Run Vehicle Description
Police continue to search for the vehicle they believe was involved in the collision. Police are looking for a late model sedan. Officers think the hit-and-run vehicle may be a Hyundai or Honda. There may be damage on the driver’s side of the sedan.
