Rural Napa Motorcycle Crash Results in Injuries

On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, a rural Napa motorcycle crash left one person with serious trauma. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash happened during the afternoon and involved only a single vehicle. The injured motorcyclist has been identified as a 58-year-old man from the nearby city of Fairfield. Updates on his condition have not yet been released by medical officials.

Crash Information

The crash occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 121 about one mile to the north of the intersection at Wooden Valley Road. The Fairfield man was driving a 2020 Harley on the mountainside road when, for unknown reasons, he veered toward the edge of the road. Eventually, the motorcycle collided with a steep embankment just off the roadside, throwing the driver off the vehicle.

Response

After they were notified about this crash, the CHP sent out a group of emergency responders to the collision location. When responders arrived at the site, they determined that the motorcyclist had been critically injured and had him rushed to the Queen of the Valley Hospital via ambulance. Specific details about his injuries were not available.

Investigation

CHP has indicated that what caused this accident to happen is currently unknown. However, officers are still attempting to determine what causal factors could have been involved. Motorcycle collisions can be caused by a wide variety of factors and many common causes can’t be controlled by drivers. Common non-driver crash factors include hazardous roads and malfunctioning motorcycle parts such as tires, brakes, or steering systems.

Motorcyclist Injuries

Motorcycle riders are very vulnerable and are often seriously injured during accidents. Many common motorcyclist injuries can have major consequences for crash survivors as well as their families. Injuries like spinal cord trauma or major bone fractures can cause mobility issues, making it hard for crash survivors to exercise, get around their homes, and/or perform their job. Likewise, traumatic brain injuries are likely to cause issues with cognition, which can also dramatically affect your ability to complete normal tasks.

While it is possible to recover from many types of trauma, it can take a long time. Furthermore, the recovery process can be difficult as well as prohibitively expensive. Collision survivors frequently need surgeries, medications, physical therapy, and more in order to regain their health. On top of losing income, dealing with medical bills can seem impossible.

Getting Help

Those facing these issues often feel overwhelmed. However, it’s possible to get help. Crash survivors can reach out to a Napa personal injury lawyer in order to begin the process of filing a personal injury case. Filing such a case can provide crash survivors with the money they need to cover their medical expenses and make up for lost wages as well as other damages they’ve suffered.
