Run-Off-Road Single-Vehicle Accident Occurs on Southbound I-5

Minor injuries occurred in a single-vehicle accident in Sacramento on June 29 when a car went off the roadway, catching the grass on fire. Authorities with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated the accident happened along southbound I-5 at the bottom of the southbound S.R. 99 connector around 9:23 p.m. Sacramento Fire Department medics arrived at the scene and determined that minor injuries had been suffered due to the crash. The investigation into the cause of the run-off-road accident is underway by the CHP traffic collision unit.

A Single-Vehicle Accident Can Occur for a Variety of Reasons

The cause of an accident in which the vehicle leaves the roadway can be attributed to a number of factors. While most accidents are caused by a driver’s mistake, other factors can also contribute to them. Run-off-road accidents, for example, can be caused by poor road maintenance. In the event of an accident, the government entity responsible for the maintenance could be held responsible. It is a good idea to hire an accident attorney since the filing deadline for this type of claim is only six months.

Defective Auto Parts Can Cause a Single-Vehicle Accident

Defects in auto parts such as tires, braking systems or steering can also cause a single-vehicle accident. Engineers will be able to examine the car for defects if the vehicle is kept after an accident. Run-off-road accidents can be caused by defective parts, which can lead to product liability claims against the manufacturer, distributor and others.

What You Can Recover by Filing a Personal Injury Claim

Accidents that cause serious injuries can result in hospitalizations and high medical costs. An injured party may also have to miss work or take paid vacation or sick leave, along with medical expenses. When someone else causes an injury to you, things can get very difficult. Personal injury lawsuits can recover the following damages:

  • Medical bills associated with your accident: If you are involved in an accident, you may recover all medical expenses, including hospital stays, doctor’s bills, and physical therapy. In order to avoid being burdened with the financial expenses of recovering from an accident, a personal injury lawyer will assist you in gathering all these costs.
  • Wages: The inability to work can result in the recovery of wages. It is possible for you to lose your job or become permanently disabled as a result of the accident. In your settlement, you will be reimbursed for these costs.
  • Pain and suffering: As well as experiencing physical pain, you may also experience emotional and psychological suffering, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. PTSD treatment may be recoverable, and compensation may be available for your physical and emotional traumas.
