There have been multiple incidents involving the most common cars subject to auto theft in Roseville. For that reason, the Roseville Police Department is giving away free anti-theft locks for steering wheels for cars listed below.
Campaign to Decrease Auto Thefts in Roseville
The Roseville Police Department has initiated a campaign to focus on decreasing the number of auto theft cases through recognition and prevention. Authorities are offering a limited number of free anti-theft steering wheel locks for owners of the following vehicles:
Roseville Top Five Most Stolen Vehicles:
- Honda Accord [1987 to 1998]
- Honda Civic [1990 to 2000]
- Acura Integra [1990 to 1998]
- Toyota Camry [1987 to 2003]
- Saturn SL [1993 to 2002]
Free Auto Theft Device Requirements
- You must own a car listed above.
- Your vehicle must have a current registration.
- You must be able to prove that you are a resident of Roseville.
How to Obtain a Free Auto Theft Device
You may pick up your free auto theft steering wheel lock at the Roseville Police Department located at 1051 Junction Boulevard. You must bring the car along with documents proving residency and your vehicle registration with you. This program is sponsored by a grant for crime prevention from the City of Roseville’s Citizen’s Benefit Fund and the manufacturer of The Club.
How to Prevent Auto Theft
- Never leave your keys in the ignition of your unattended vehicle.
- Lock all your doors and close all your windows.
- Park your vehicle in an area that is well-lit.
