Late Morning Roseville Accident Injures Three

Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are investigating a recent Roseville collision after three were injured in this two-vehicle incident. Walerga Road, the site of the accident, was temporarily closed for a couple hours for investigation. The three people injured had unspecificed injuries ranging from minor to major.

Robert Jones, a 70-year old from Roseville, was allegedly speeding and swerving in the southbound lanes of Walerga Road shortly after 11:00am, according to a news release by the CHP. The car driven by Jones struck a concrete barrier, causing it to collide with a Nissan Altima from the northbound lanes. Jones was taken to a local hospital for his major injuries. The 22-year old Nissan driver was also hospitalized. In addition, a passenger in the Nissan Altima was treated for minor injuries. An official from CHP in Auburn stated that Walerga Road was closed off for about two hours while authorities investigated. Alcohol and/or drugs are being considered as a potential factor related to the collision.

When Can You File a Personal Injury Claim After a Car Accident?

You have a limited period after the intial car accident that you can file a personal injury claim to see if you are entitled to compensation for your damages. This principle is called the statute of limitations, which restricts how long you can wait before filing a lawsuit against a negligent driver and their insurance company. Every state has their own laws for their statutory deadline. In California, the California Code of Civil Procedure Section 335.1. states that you must file your claim no later than two years from the date of the collision. If it has been over two years, the court is very likely to dismiss your case. It is important to contact an injury lawyer soon after your car wreck.
