Vehicles Collide Head-on Along Jackson Road

A two-vehicle accident on March 11 in Rosemont reportedly caused moderate injuries. The accident happened at Jackson Road and Harlin Drive around 6:34 in the morning. Both vehicles were reported with major front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Additional Information About the Two-Vehicle Accident

According to the police report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the westbound lane of Jackson Road was blocked by the collision while the site was cleared. The incident is under investigation to find out which driver was at fault and how the two-vehicle accident happened.

Intersections Are Common Locations for Traffic Accidents

When traffic converges at one location, as it does at intersections, accidents are common. Around 40 percent of all traffic accidents happen at an intersection and not only affect passenger vehicle occupants but pedestrians, bicycle riders, and motorcyclists. Although it takes an alert, patient driver to safely navigate an intersection, not all motorists are careful, which quickly leads to a crash. Some of the reasons for a two-vehicle accident at an intersection include:

  • A motorist runs a red light. This is a common cause of a T-bone accident at an intersection.
  • A driver makes a left turn without watching carefully for oncoming traffic. This is a common cause of a two-vehicle head-on or T-bone collision
  • A motorist attempts a right-hand turn without a clear view of oncoming traffic from the left. This negligence can result in a rear-end or T-bone two-vehicle accident.
  • A driver makes an illegal U-turn, which can cause a head-on collision.
  • Tailgating behind another vehicle can result in a two-vehicle accident if the driver stops at an intersection’s yellow light.

Compensation Following a Two-Vehicle Accident Injury

Those who are injured through another driver’s negligence may place a claim for compensation with the help of an injury lawyer. Areas in which compensation can be claimed can include the following:

  • Medical costs: Being injured in an accident can quickly get expensive. Ambulance and hospital bills, physician and specialist costs, medications, tests, rehabilitation, and other expenses can be claimed. Even your out-of-pocket expenses, such as trips to the doctor, are covered by a personal injury claim.
  • Future medical expenses: In cases where the injury is expected to continue into the future, those expenses are covered as well. Spinal cord trauma and TBIs can result in a need for life-long care.
  • Lost wages: Income lost from being unable to work is reimbursable. This includes the loss in pension benefits, bonuses, insurance, and others.
  • Lack of future income: If the injured party is unable to return to work because of the seriousness of their injury, the money they would have earned, along with other perks of the job, would be reimbursable until their normal age of retirement.
  • Loss of consortium: This is for the loss of the personal relationship between spouses from a two-vehicle accident injury.
  • Home health care: If an injured party returns home and needs assistance, home health care is covered. So are the costs of aids such as a hospital bed, wheelchair, walker, or other medical devices.
  • Pain and suffering: The injured party can be reimbursed for the pain and suffering they endured after the two-vehicle accident.
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder: Some people who are injured in a traffic accident face emotional and psychological problems as a result. These can come in the form of nightmares, sleeplessness, fear of riding in a vehicle, and anxiety. Those who have to seek professional help may include those costs in their compensation claim.
