Accident on Eastbound Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento

A rollover accident in Sacramento recently ended with one vehicle landing on the trunk of the car in front of it. According to a report by the Sacramento Police Department, the accident happened shortly before 12:30 in the afternoon along eastbound Folsom Boulevard at the intersection with Ramona Avenue. According to reports, the vehicle flipped over for unknown reasons before landing. Emergency responders arrived at the scene quickly to clear it, and a tow truck was required to remove the vehicle from the trunk of the other car. No injuries were reported in the accident. Investigators with the Sacramento police will be determining how and why the collision occurred.

Rollover Accidents

Rollovers result in a vehicle landing on its roof or side, something that often causes havoc for other drivers. Because of the force of a rollover, it can do considerable damage to an adjacent vehicle. Rollovers are not restricted to SUVs, although they are most common in vehicles with a high center of gravity. This includes light trucks and vans besides SUVs. A rollover is influenced by steering sensitivity, speed, axle width, and height. They can be caused by road defects as well. There are two types of rollovers. These are called tripped and untripped. Tripped rollovers are the most common (95 percent of all rollovers). Tripped rollovers occur when the vehicle’s wheels hit something such as soft soil or a guardrail or if another vehicle hits them broadside. Untripped rollovers occur when a vehicle is taking a corner too fast. They can also be due to manufacturer defects such as suspension design, poor tire traction, and defective brakes

Compensation in a Rollover Accident

Liability in a rollover accident depends on the reason it happened. For instance, if a rollover accident happened due to a road defect, the city or state responsible for roadway maintenance can be held liable. Alternately, if another driver is responsible for the rollover, a personal injury lawsuit can help you recover damages. If occupants are injured by a crushed roof, a product liability claim can be lodged.

Assistance From a Personal Injury Lawyer

A personal injury lawyer with experience in handling all varieties of car accidents can help when you’ve been injured. We believe that no one should suffer both physical and financial injury due to another’s negligence. Our firm’s investigators go out to the accident location to look for evidence and begin by checking the police report for mistakes and talking to witnesses. They perform accident reconstruction, which is used by the insurance industry and courts to show the placement of vehicles and maneuvers that led to the crash. The investigators check traffic surveillance and business cameras to look for videos of the accident in real-time. They also seek evidence of tire tread marks, upheavals in pavement, and signs that the at-fault driver did not try to stop to avoid a collision.

The at-fault driver’s driving record will be checked for past transgressions, and the investigators will look to see if the motorist committed an act of negligence such as speeding or drunk driving. When the evidence is gathered together, our attorneys work to build a case in favor of our client. It is used either when negotiating for our client with the insurance company or preparing a strong case to present in court.
