A Ripon fatal accident involving a suspected DUI left one person dead and two others injured late on the evening of March 6. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash occurred on Highway 99, just north of Jack Tone Road, at approximately 10:26 p.m.

According to authorities, a 35-year-old man from Manteca was driving a pickup truck at high speed while under the influence of alcohol. The pickup collided with a big rig and an SUV driven by a 63-year-old woman from Stockton. Tragically, the Stockton woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

All three vehicles involved in the crash had a single occupant, and authorities believe alcohol was a contributing factor. The CHP traffic collision unit is investigating the incident to determine further details.
