Injuries and Fatality Occur in Rancho Murieta Fatal Collision on Jackson Highway

A Rancho Murieta fatal collision on May 14 may have involved alcohol, according to authorities. The accident occurred along Jackson Highway near Murieta South Parkway around 4:30 p.m. and involved a head-on. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said one driver in an Acura going west on Jackson Highway passed into the opposing lane, crashing into a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tacoma pickup.

Two Motorists Injured in Rancho Murieta Fatal Collision

The Acura driver died in the crash. The other two motorists suffered moderate to minor injuries. Authorities reportedly believe that alcohol consumption was a factor in the crash. The highway was shut down in the eastbound direction for several hours while the investigation was conducted by CHP traffic accident detectives.

Compensation for Fatalities and Injuries in Accidents

When a traffic accident results in injury or death, you and your family deserve compensation. An accident lawyer can help by first identifying who holds legal responsibility for your accident and determining if their negligence caused the injuries or death. Sometimes, a third party, such as a government entity’s negligent roadway care or an automaker’s defective part, may have caused the accident. In these cases, they must pay for the damages.

Negligence Caused Accident Injuries and Fatalities

Most injury or fatality claims are settled through the at-fault party’s insurance company. To file a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit, it must be shown that another party’s negligence or recklessness caused the car crash, which your lawyer can investigate and compile. Common evidence to support a wrongful death or injury claim includes accident reconstruction, witness testimony, surveillance camera footage, damage to the vehicles and roadway, and the police report, among others. It must also be shown that the injured party suffered a financial loss because of the accident, such as lost wages and medical expenses.

Pursuing a Wrongful Death Claim

Similar processes apply with regard to investigation evidence when pursuing a wrongful death claim after a Rancho Murieta fatal collision. Proof must be provided for end-of-life expenses, lost wages, future earnings, and other losses to receive compensation. However, your accident lawyer will compile that evidence, so your family can grieve in peace knowing your case is in good hands.
