Pollock Pines Hit-and-Run Reported

Accident on Jenkinson Circle Sends One Person to the Hospital

A possible hit-and-run collision in Pollock Pines on March 9 caused injuries to at least one person. The crash occurred around 1:12 p.m. along Jenkinson Circle off Sly Park Road. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) came to the scene to discover only one vehicle, which was facing the wrong way in the southbound lanes.

Authorities Seeking Hit-and-Run Driver

At least one injured patient was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. The vehicle in question exhibited damage to its front end, and it is believed the other vehicle fled the scene. The accident is being investigated by the CHP to try and locate the other driver.

The Search for a Hit-and-Run Driver

When a driver flees after an accident, it is important to track them down, which allows an injured party to receive compensation. Recovering from an accident caused by another driver can be extremely difficult. You should be reimbursed by the at-fault party for your medical bills, wages you lost because you were unable to work and for pain and suffering you endured due to an accident.

In many cases over the years, we have been successful in tracking down drivers who have committed a hit-and-run. Drivers that fled the scene of an accident can be located using some of the following methods:

Identifying the vehicle that fled the scene is key to locating the driver. Because of this, our investigators head to the scene of the accident as soon as possible to begin evidence collection.

  • In addition to taking photographs, the investigators look for metal fragments and paint dropped at the scene. Since they are specific to certain years and manufacturers, those items can help determine exactly what kind of vehicle it is, including the year of manufacture.
  • To ensure that the police accident report is accurate, investigators review it. An error could jeopardize a client’s ability to place a claim to recover compensation.
  • A hit-and-run accident will be investigated by checking traffic surveillance cameras and those at nearby businesses and homes. Recovered footage can be used to identify the vehicle that caused the accident and show how the collision occurred.
  • Investigators interview anyone who may have witnessed the accident. There are often witnesses who can identify or describe the vehicle leaving the scene. Many times, witnesses will be able to give details about the driver. Last but not least, witnesses have recorded accidents on their cell phones as they happened.
  • Reconstruction of the accident can help identify who was responsible for the collision because it shows the placement of the vehicles before the crash occurred, how it happened and where the cars finally ended up.

Using the evidence gathered by our injury lawyers, we build a case that will support our client’s claim for compensation

Insurance Can Pay for Your Injuries

Using their uninsured/underinsured coverage, the injured party can recover compensation if the suspect driver was located but didn’t have the money to cover the accident injuries. California drivers that purchase auto insurance are all offered this add-on policy, and many of them carry it. Another member of the immediate family may be able to provide their coverage from this policy if the injured party doesn’t have it. The policy rate will remain the same.
