Oakland Head-On Collision Kills Driver on San Leandro Street

Authorities are investigating an Oakland head-on collision that occurred on June 8, leaving a 66-year-old man with injuries and killing one of the drivers. The accident happened at about 2:40 a.m. on San Leandro Street. The crash involved a Ford van, a Honda Civic, and an Infiniti SUV. Officers with the Oakland Police Department reported that the driver of the SUV fled the scene.

Honda Swerves Into Oncoming Traffic in Oakland Head-On Collision

The incident began with a collision caused by the Honda swerving into oncoming traffic and striking the van head-on and sideswiping an Infiniti. Authorities discovered an open alcohol container inside the vehicle. The female driver, 28, perished at the scene. 

Oakland Head-On Collision Fleeing Driver Sought

The Infiniti driver fled the scene. The driver of the van, 68, was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries. Police have not released a detailed description of the Infiniti SUV driver and are still searching for both the driver and vehicle as of Monday.
