Pittsburg Pedestrian Accident
I’m Ed Smith, a Pittsburg pedestrian accident lawyer. An elderly woman was walking in Pittsburg during the evening hours of Monday, February 27, 2017 when she was struck by an oncoming car. The pedestrian accident caused the elderly woman to unfortunately suffer fatal injuries.
What Happened?
An automobile accident took place at the intersection of Willow Pass Road and Loftus Road at about 7:00 pm. One of the drivers in the crash called one of his relatives who lived nearby the scene. The relative, who was an elderly woman, was walking along Willow Pass Road in the vicinity of Seasons Drive. When the elderly woman was crossing the street to check on her relative, that was in the car accident, she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
What Caused the Pedestrian Accident?
The cause of the pedestrian accident has not yet been released by authorities. The driver that crashed into the elderly woman remained at the scene. Investigators do not suspect that impairment played as a factor in the accident.
Was She Okay?
The condition of the relative involved in the initial automobile accident has not yet been released by authorities. Sadly, the elderly woman that was involved in the pedestrian accident passed away at the scene due to the injuries she sustained. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office later identified the elderly woman as 78-year-old Teresita Cerbas of Bay Point.
