Pickup Truck Driver Seriously Injured in Rural Napa Auto Accident

One person suffered serious injuries during a rural Napa auto accident that took place on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Reports from California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the collision happened in the evening and involved only one passenger vehicle. As of the latest reports, only one individual was injured and he is still in hospital custody. CHP has stated that they are currently investigating this incident.

Crash Information

The accident occurred at 6:22 p.m. on Knoxville Road to the south of the intersection at Pope Canyon Road on the northern shore of Lake Berryessa. Police indicate that a 30-year-old man from San Pablo apparently lost control of his pickup truck and ran off-road. After leaving the road, the vehicle rolled, overturning several times. While rolling, the man was ejected through one of the pickup truck’s windows.

Response

The accident was called into CHP shortly after it occurred, and responders were sent to the scene. When they arrived, they discovered that the driver had been severely injured and called for a helicopter ambulance. The man was flown to the Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.

Investigation of Rural Napa Auto Accident

As CHP conducts an investigation into possible causes of the accident, no factors have been confirmed. Even with accidents that only involve a single vehicle, there are often multiple causal factors. In many cases, these factors include things not controlled by the driver. Non-driver crash factors can include dangerous roads, defective car parts, and more.

Rollovers and Liability

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that accidents involving rollovers are more likely than most collisions to result in fatal or severe injuries. There are a few reasons for this, but one critical factor is weak vehicle roofs. Many vehicles are not built strong enough to withstand a rollover, and the roof of the car may crush during the accident. This happens when vehicles are poorly designed or if the roof is made from weak material and can cause very serious injuries.

The companies that make passenger vehicles are expected to make sure their products are reasonably safe. Because of this, the company may be considered negligent if the vehicle roof collapses. This is why it is crucial to preserve your wrecked vehicle after a rollover. This means that crash survivors can often obtain compensation for their damages by filing injury claims against these companies.

Calling a Lawyer

After a major accident, people are often under a lot of stress and may feel overwhelmed. In many cases, calling a lawyer to help you with your injury case is the last thing on a survivor’s mind. However, having a Napa personal injury lawyer working on your case early on is very important and often makes a vital difference to your ability to claim the compensation that you deserve. Many accident survivors are able to obtain payment for medical bills, lost wages, damaged vehicles, and more.
