Driver Fled Scene, Pursuit Ends Near Galleria Mall
According to police, officers quickly located the suspect vehicle shortly after the crash. However, the driver refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit. The chase was ultimately called off near the Galleria Mall after officers lost sight of the vehicle. Authorities continue to investigate and are urging the public to come forward with any information about the driver’s identity or whereabouts.
Safety Reminder: Stay Vigilant in Residential Areas
While neighborhoods typically have lower speed limits, they can be deceptively dangerous due to blind driveways, sharp corners, and frequent pedestrian activity. Drivers must slow down and remain vigilant at all times, while pedestrians should avoid distractions, wear visible clothing, and use sidewalks or marked crossings whenever available. Increased awareness from both parties helps prevent tragedies like this from occurring.
Legal Options for Hit-and-Run Victims
Being hit in a pedestrian accident is already a traumatic experience, but when the driver leaves the scene, it adds even more distress and a deep sense of injustice. Victims of hit-and-run incidents have the right to pursue compensation through uninsured motorist coverage, personal injury claims, or other legal avenues. An experienced attorney can help you understand your rights and explore all available sources of recovery, even when the at-fault driver is unidentified.
