Pedestrians can also improve their safety by using crosswalks when available, wearing visible clothing at night, and remaining alert to approaching traffic.

Wrongful Death Claims After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident
Losing a loved one in a pedestrian accident is a heartbreaking experience that no family should have to endure. When a fatal pedestrian collision is caused by another person’s negligence, surviving family members may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim under California law.
A wrongful death claim can help families recover compensation for funeral and burial expenses, the loss of financial support and household services, and the loss of the love, companionship, care, guidance, and emotional support their loved one would have provided. While no amount of compensation can replace a loved one, it can help ease the financial burden and provide a measure of justice.
