According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near Tiogawoods Drive. Authorities reported that an adult pedestrian was struck by a train and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train involved in the incident was operated by Union Pacific Railroad. Officials stated that the train crew was not injured and is being offered support following the traumatic event.
