Pedestrian Accident Kills Elk Grove Woman
I’m Ed Smith, an Elk Grove auto accident attorney. We have learned that a woman from Elk Grove was the victim tragically killed in a pedestrian accident on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Fairfield, California.
What Happened?
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), an Elk Grove woman was fatally wounded by a vehicle while walking along the freeway in Fairfield on Saturday evening. The crash took place at around 9:45 p.m. near Green Valley Road along westbound Interstate 80.
According to the CHP, the 32-year-old woman walked into the path of traffic for reasons that are unclear. Sadly, she was struck and killed by a Toyota Highlander. Authorities said she was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
Was Anyone Else Injured?
No. The driver who struck the woman was not injured as a result of the crash.
Victim’s Vehicle Had Hazard Lights On
Officers located the victim’s vehicle in close proximity to the accident scene. The vehicle had its hazard lights on.
