Pedestrian Accident Fatally Injures Modesto Man

I’m Ed Smith, a car accident lawyer in Modesto. A man was enjoying an early morning walk in Modesto on Monday, December 18, 2017. Sadly, this would be the last stroll around town this man will take due to a tragic pedestrian accident.

I would like to extend my condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Haynes during this difficult time. Losing a loved one can be one of life’s biggest challenges, especially when someone dear to you is taken unexpectedly.

What Happened?

A Modesto man was walking westbound along Hatch Road in the vicinity of Dallas Street. At the same time, a Ceres man was driving his 1997 Dodge west on Dallas Street. The Dodge driver claimed he did not see the man until it was too late to avoid a collision . The driver attempted to swerve to the left to avoid impact, but unfortunately, struck the pedestrian with the right side of his vehicle’s bumper.

Victim Suffers Fatal Injuries

Emergency responders were sent to the area of the pedestrian accident to provide immediate medical attention. The injured pedestrian was transported to the Doctors Medical Center for medical treatment. Devastatingly, the man succumbed to his injuries during hospitalization.

Identity of Victim

Authorities have identified the victim of the accident as 35-year-old Kevin Haynes of Modesto.

What Caused the Pedestrian Accident?

Local authorities have not yet determined the cause of this pedestrian accident as the investigation is still ongoing. Officials do not suspect that the Dodge driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs leading up to the collision.

Pedestrian Accident Claims

Pedestrian accidents are complex cases to handle as a thorough investigation is necessary to properly determine liability. Usually, these types of accidents are reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency who will document the evidence with a Traffic Collision Report. Officials usually process these reports in one to two weeks from the date of the accident. These reports are vital in filing a personal injury or wrongful death claim against the automobile insurance policy of the at-fault party. If you or a loved one has been injured in a pedestrian accident, you do not have to endure this struggle alone. Contacting an experienced Modesto pedestrian accident lawyer can be critical in securing your rights and fair compensation for incurred damages.

Loved One Forever Remembered

Kevin Haynes was a beloved and cherished member of his family. He is forever remembered by those who surrounded him for his loving and caring soul. He brightened the mood of any room he entered and brought out the best of any person he made contact with. A GoFundMe account has been established by the family members of Haynes to raise enough money to cover the expenses of his unforeseen passing.
