Paradise Reckless Driver Crash
A woman from Paradise called 911 while driving recklessly on Sunday, July 25, 2016.
What Happened?
The woman was identified as 38-year-old Michael Margaret Cienkowski. Cienkowski was driving when she made a call to 911 demanding for officers to be on the scene with her immediately. Cienkowski demanded several times and said she was driving recklessly and passing red lights. At the time of the call, Cienkowski made threats that she was going to hit other vehicles. Cienkowski followed through on her statement and collided with another vehicle at the Opal Lane and Billie Road intersection.
Crash Aftermath
According to authorities, Cienkowski drove off the roadway, leading to her vehicle rolling over. Due to the vehicle’s rollover, a fire hydrant and power pole sustained damages, leading the lines to fall into the roadway. As a result, the power in the surrounding areas was not functional. The roadway was blocked while crews from PG&E worked on the lines to restore power to the surrounding areas.
Paradise Police Department Reports
The Paradise Police Department reports that there was a driver located inside the vehicle that was crashed into by Cienkowski’s vehicle. The motorist of the vehicle was transported to the Feather River Hospital due to pain complaints. The factor of drugs in this incident has not been ruled as a factor yet. Cienkowski was placed at the Butte County Jail for charges of battery, obstructing an officer, and assault with a deadly weapon with bodily injury.
