Overturned Truck Blocks Highway 99
I’m Ed Smith, an Elk Grove truck accident attorney. A driver lost control of their box truck while driving along the highway. This resulted in the box truck overturning and landing into its side against a guard rail separating the opposite lanes of travel along the highway. Thankfully, the driver was reported to be in good standing after this frightening accident.
What Happened?
A motorist was traveling southbound along Highway 99 in his box truck at about 6:00 am. For reasons that are not known, the driver lost control of the truck and crashed through the center divider and hedges in the vicinity of Elk Grove Boulevard. The position of the crashed box truck blocked the first lane for Highway 99 southbound.
Overturned Truck Causes Traffic Mayhem
Due to the box truck overturning on Highway 99 south, it caused the first lane for the roadway to be closed down as a result. The closure of the first lane caused a major back-up along this highway. However, closing the first lane assists authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash and ensures the safety of other motorists traveling on the roadway. All southbound lanes were reopened by authorities at 8:52 am, which decreased traffic congestion in the area.
Highway 99 Alternate Route for Drivers
There is an alternate travel route for drivers that are traveling on Highway 99 southbound in Elk Grove and face traffic mayhem caused by accidents such as this one. The alternate route is Frontage Road, which runs parallel to Highway 99.
Was Anybody Injured?
The driver of the box truck was fortunate to exit out of the vehicle safely. There were no injuries reported and no other vehicles involved in this trucking accident.
