Oroville Crash Seriously Injures Woman

I’m Ed Smith, an Oroville car accident lawyer. A woman reportedly suffered a bone fracture injury during a traffic collision she was involved in over the weekend. The injured woman is a resident of Oroville. She was an occupant inside of a vehicle that was struck by another motorist. She was transported by Enloe FlightCare helicopter after her legs were seriously injured during the motor vehicle accident on Friday, November 18, 2016. The accident took place along Lincoln Boulevard in the vicinity of Monte Vista Avenue in the city of Oroville.

What Happened?

A crash took place near Las Plumas High School just after 8:30 a.m. Authorities indicated that a woman driving a Dodge Durango tried to make a left hand turn onto Monte Vista Avenue. She had been driving down Lincoln Boulevard when she turned right in front of a Ford Explorer that was driving along Monte Vista Avenue. The Ford Explorer collided with the Dodge Durango blocking the northbound lane of travel along Lincoln Boulevard. Three people had to be taken to local hospitals after suffering varying degrees of injury due to this unfortunate and tragic vehicular accident.

Dodge Durango Driver Identified

The female driver of the Dodge Durango, identified by authorities as Christina Baca, 28, from Oroville, was heading southbound on Lincoln Boulevard when she pulled into the left turn lane to get onto Monte Vista Avenue.

Driver of Ford Explorer Identified

At about the same time, a man behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer, identified by authorities as Joseph Solansky, 33, from Gridley, was proceeding northbound along Lincoln Boulevard. He was approaching Monte Vista Avenue. His estimated speed was reported to be 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Dodge Durango Failed to Yield to the Ford Explorer

Baca allegedly failed to yield to the oncoming Ford Explorer. She made her left hand turn toward Monte Vista Avenue and proceeded right into the path of the Ford Explorer.

Major Property Damage and Personal Injuries

The ensuing crash resulted in major property damage to both of the vehicles. Unfortunately, the crash caused several injuries to those involved.

Ford Explorer Passengers Identified

A passenger in the Ford Explorer, identified by authorities as Sandra Solansky, 56, from Oroville, suffered what appeared to be two broken legs. She had to be flown by helicopter to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment of her broken bones.

A second passenger inside the Ford Explorer, identified as Clarence Solansky, 55, from Oroville, suffered injuries, described as back and neck pain.

Joseph Solansky, the 33-year driver of the Ford Explorer suffered cuts, back and neck pain.

Injuries to Baca, Driver of the Dodge Durango

Baca, the driver of the Dodge Durango suffered injuries to her knee and complained of chest pain.

Have Any Arrests Been Made?

No. Authorities have made no arrests as of yet. A preliminary report indicated that neither drugs or alcohol contributed to this auto accident. Everyone involved in the traffic collision was wearing a seatbelt.

It typically takes a week or so for the CHP to prepare a traffic collision report. The report when released usually indentifies the party who caused the crash. However, sometimes the police report will be inconclusive as to fault or even be wrong in their findings of fault. It is crucial if you have been injured in a crash by another person’s negligence to have an experienced accident lawyer helping you with your personal injury claim. Good personal accident lawyers investigate the details of your crash and hold those responsible for your injuries accountable.
