One Severely Injured During Box Truck Crash Near Truckee

One Seriously Hurt During Box Truck Crash Near Truckee

On Monday, November 30, 2020, one person was seriously hurt as the result of a crash near Truckee. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the accident, stating that it occurred in the early morning and only involved one vehicle. The driver was hospitalized, but updates on their condition remain unavailable. Additionally, the driver was the only individual reported to have been involved in this accident.

Crash Information

The collision happened before sunrise on the westbound portion of Highway Interstate 80 near the small community of Kingvale. CHP Gold Run reported that an enterprise rental truck was driving westbound when it drifted to the right and eventually traveled off the highway. After driving off-road, the truck traveled down a nearby embankment and eventually crashed into the Yuba River just outside of a nearby highway overpass.

Response

Emergency response teams arrived at the location shortly after the crash was reported to CHP. Upon reaching the scene, responders found that the driver was trapped inside the truck and had sustained major injuries during the collision. Personnel from CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit conducted an emergency extrication in order to free the driver from the wrecked truck. After extrication, the driver was rushed to a local hospital to be given immediate medical attention.

Investigation

CHP has stated that their officers are currently looking into the possible causes of this traumatic collision. However, no reports regarding suspected factors have been released at this time. Even solo-vehicle accidents can be complicated events and in many cases, they involve multiple factors, many of which are not things drivers can control, like malfunctioning truck parts or dangerous highways.

Auto Accident Injuries are Serious

Being injured during an auto accident can have a major impact on your life, and crash survivors frequently find themselves in a very difficult situation. Recovering from a major injury can take a long time and, during this time, it may be impossible for survivors to return to work, resulting in lost income.

Losing income can make it even more difficult to afford the medical treatments you need to regain your health. Because survivors often need to pay for surgeries, hospital rooms, ambulance rides, medications, physical therapy sessions, and more, many people worry about how they’ll be able to move on with their lives following major accidents.

Getting Help

Crash survivors in this situation should always reach out for help from a Truckee personal injury lawyer. By working with an attorney and filing a personal injury claim, many people are able to obtain the compensation that covers their lost wages, medical bills, and other damages related to their accident.

However, the process of claiming injury compensation can be complicated, and financially liable parties frequently try to disclaim responsibility. Because of this, it is vital to have an expert attorney on your side before moving forward with filing a claim.
