One Killed In Shingletown Area Auto Accident

On Sunday, November 30, 2020, a single person tragically lost their lives as the result of a Shingletown Area auto accident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the crash took place during the afternoon at a rural highway location to the west of the city. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department is withholding the decedent’s personal information until their family has been notified and the accident remains under CHP investigation.

Collision Information

The collision occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 44 near Boulder Ridge Trail, around five miles to the west of Shingletown. CHP reports that a vehicle was driving eastbound on the highway when it entered a curve. As the vehicle navigated the curve, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control. The vehicle traveled off the road and struck a utility pole. After it struck the pole, the car continued on a short distance before it collided with a pine tree and came to a complete stop. No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in this crash.

Response

Multiple area emergency agencies assisted with accident response, and responders arrived at the crash scene shortly after CHP was notified about the incident. Upon reaching the area, responders discovered the driver still inside of the vehicle and determined that they had been critically injured. Sadly, the officials pronounced the individual deceased on-site.

Investigation

While CHP is investigating the incident, officers involved with the investigation haven’t provided any information about what factors could have been involved. Single-vehicle accidents may seem simple but are often complex cases that are caused by a number of different factors. Additionally, many common solo-vehicle accident factors are simply things that drivers aren’t able to control, like poorly built vehicles or dangerous highway hazards.

Private Investigations are Critical

Police faced with the challenge of investigating fatal accidents often have difficulty fully understanding what took place. Because they can’t ask the involved driver about what happened, it’s possible that investigating officers won’t notice important evidence. In turn, this can leave families unable to claim fair compensation.

For this reason, it’s critical to have a Redding wrongful death lawyer conduct their own private accident investigation. Doing so will ensure that an experienced professional is committing their skill and resources toward your family’s right to recover the payments they deserve.

Finding a Trustworthy Lawyer

In many cases, families dealing with the sudden loss of a loved one feel overwhelmed. This may cause them to delay calling a wrongful death lawyer for help, especially if finding the right attorney seems like additional stress.

However, having a wrongful death lawyer on your side early on can be vital to your case. Fortunately, finding a competent, compassionate attorney who is qualified to handle your case is easy. To learn more about finding the right lawyer, watch this video:
