One Dead in Vallejo Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

One Killed in Vallejo Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, one person sadly passed away after being involved in a Vallejo pedestrian hit-and-run accident. Officers from the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) reported that the accident involved a single vehicle and happened in the morning in the central area of the city. The decedent was identified as a 39-year-old man from Vallejo. However, county authorities have not yet reported his name.

Crash Details

The accident occurred at about 9:16 a.m. at the intersection of Carroll and Tennessee Streets. VPD did not provide information about the events preceding the accident but stated that the pedestrian was discovered in the westbound lanes of Tennessee Street with severe injuries. VPD also indicated that the vehicle involved in the crash immediately drove away from the scene.

Emergency officials reportedly gave the injured pedestrian CPR before an ambulance arrived and transported him to a local emergency center. Sadly, the man lost his life the following day while in hospital custody.

Investigation

VPD officers are currently looking for the missing driver and vehicle but have not been able to provide a description of either. Anybody who has information that could help police locate the driver is asked to contact Officer Kenneth Trimble by calling the VPD Traffic Division at (707) 648-4011.

Hit-and-Run Accidents

Fatal accidents are devastating and those who’ve lost loved ones frequently experience intense grief. With hit-and-runs, it can be even more difficult to deal with your anger, confusion, and pain. Furthermore, people who lose loved ones in hit-and-runs may worry that they will be unable to claim wrongful death damages if the driver is never found. However, it is often possible for families to claim the compensation that they deserve through their own insurance policy.

When at-fault parties can’t be held financially responsible for accidents, people can frequently use a part of insurance policies called “uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage” to claim payments. However, this coverage isn’t a mandatory part of insurance policies in California and the amount available differs depending on your specific case. Furthermore, insurance companies may not offer you the full amount of compensation that you truly deserve for the damages you and your family have suffered. The best thing you can do to make sure that you are able to claim fair compensation is to reach out to an experienced Vallejo wrongful death attorney before taking any legal action.

Finding a Trustworthy Lawyer

After suffering a traumatic loss, it’s important to do everything you can to take care of yourself and the people you love. However, many families face financial stress that makes it impossible to focus on coping with their grief. To make sure your family can have financial security during a difficult time, it’s important to call an attorney. However, many people don’t know how to make sure a lawyer is trustworthy.
